i face apple watch ultra 2 strange screen flickering issue. I have timer complication on modular ultra screen. When I run a timer in the background, the screen flickers. When the timer is stopped, flickering stops.

Yes exactly. I’ve also noticed when the modular ultra watch face is switching from “night mode” the red face and being raised to wake it causes the screen to be glitchy the red mode will also blink with a timer on and running for me. Also the screen seems to be glitchy when transitioning from night mode to day mode and the other way also. And has the little bluish random bursts on the screen. I’ve since removed the timer complication and turned the night mode off and so far the watch doesn’t seem to be having any issues after that.

I’ve also called and created a case with Apple. I was able to show the person the screen blinking while they were remote viewing my screen. They took “advanced diagnostic data” from my phone and watch. They will be calling me back next week to let me know what can be done.
My watch is doing the exact same thing. When I use the new ultra 2 modular ultra watch face then have the timer as one of the screen complications while running a timer in the background. When I lift to wake the watch the whole screen will blink and even shutdown the whole watch and it will reboot intermittently.
Will anyone from Apple acknowledge this issue? It happens on my Ultra 2 as well. And it doesn't need to be a timer. A timer does not have to be active. A reboot temporarily resolves the problem but after a while it happens again. (Which makes me think this is software related)
I have the exact same issue. I have an Ultra 2 using the Pro modular watch face. Using the time complication causes the watch face to flicker once per second, and after 10-15 minutes the watch crashes and reboots. It's kind of mind blowing that this is not fixed yet, as I found reports of this almost a month old.
Seems to be a bug with the timer. I've heard that removing the timer complication from the Ultra Modular watch face will remedy the problem. No luck. Flickering, followed by reboot is still happening when using the timer. I've already returned one Apple Watch Ultra 2... will be returning this second one tomorrow as I need the timer for work and Apple has failed to patch this bug. I simply do not want to be on the hook for a maybe remedy down the road with future updates.
For me the weather complication issue got fixed by updating to 10.0.2 but I read that it did nit help to all users
A software fix appears to be coming in 10.1. This will all be over soon.
it actually rebooted on its own after some time during this flickering issue. And it continued to flicker as long as the timer was still running. I have a video of that but it is not possible to post it here.
Yes I found the same and even after a restart it is easy enough to recreate

I’ve also noticed small issues with the display when going from always on to awake mode. Best way to explain it is small star bursts of blue color over the various sections of the screen when waking from always on mode.
Yes I see the same thing in the watch app - blank space where the timer complication should be. Also sometimes when waking from always on the timer complication on the device seems to blank out and draw again.
hopefully this means it’s a software issue and not a device issue but I’ve raised this with Apple and scheduled an appointment in the Apple Store anyway
had hoped the watch update to 10.0.2 yesterday would fix all this but still happening
I am having the exact same issues. Do you have an ultra 2? My phone will flicker with the timer running. I’ve also experienced the random flash of colors from various complications when raising my wrist to check the time. It looks like a whitish bluish star formation or something for a split second. Also I will have the whole display sometimes flicker when checking the time. I also caught it on video when my watch was flickering I watched it basically power itself off then back on as if I restarted it. It pulls up the black screen with the Apple logo then asks for my password to open it when it’s done booting up. It sounds like you have the same powering off issue as well.
I got an ultra 2 last Friday and if is doing the same. Complications don’t seem to matter. It flickers when not fully awake. I also have an issue where my weather widget won’t display on the home face. Already talked to 3 people at Apple about the weather issue as it started first and they said it must be a software bug. Seems like we have some major issues with something on the ultra 2.
I returned mine last night. Apple Store was cool about it. Just made sure everything was there. Guy asked why and i told him about this discussion on apple forums and he tried to play dumb. I could tell by his face he knew something is wrong. Anyway good service. Took 1 minute for the return. I like the watch and will buy it again. Maybe wait until February after the holidays and Apple resolves thid matter. I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a hardware issue and be stuck with it.
