apple watch ultra 2 screen flickering

I returned mine last night. Apple Store was cool about it. Just made sure everything was there. Guy asked why and i told him about this discussion on apple forums and he tried to play dumb. I could tell by his face he knew something is wrong. Anyway good service. Took 1 minute for the return. I like the watch and will buy it again. Maybe wait until February after the holidays and Apple resolves thid matter. I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a hardware issue and be stuck with it.

I have the exact same issue. I have an Ultra 2 using the Pro modular watch face. Using the time complication causes the watch face to flicker once per second, and after 10-15 minutes the watch crashes and reboots. It's kind of mind blowing that this is not fixed yet, as I found reports of this almost a month old.

Maybe Apple doesn't have a fix yet and it could be a hardware issue. That's why I returned my watch just incase. If it is a hardware problem I didn't want to have to deal with exchanging the watch or returning it outside the 14 day return window.

Seems to be a bug with the timer. I've heard that removing the timer complication from the Ultra Modular watch face will remedy the problem. No luck. Flickering, followed by reboot is still happening when using the timer. I've already returned one Apple Watch Ultra 2... will be returning this second one tomorrow as I need the timer for work and Apple has failed to patch this bug. I simply do not want to be on the hook for a maybe remedy down the road with future updates.

Running WatchOS 10.1 RC starting today. Can confirm, from my anecdotal experience, the issues are resolved. I’ve ran the most timers I possibly could and had the timer complication on the new ultra modular watch face the entire time. No flickering or rebooting.

Same exact issue on my Ultra 2 as well. Ultra 1 is fine and so are both of my series 5's, so it's not a WatchOS issue, it's definitely specific to the Ultra 2 for me. It doesn't matter which watch face too, mine did it on Modular regular, not ultra. I'm going to remove the timer complication I guess and see if that fixes it when running a timer.

I have a screen flickering issue too on the ultra 2.

It appears that when the screen dims into always-on mode, the screen will flicker brightly intermittently.

I have the same issue with the timer and also pink flashing complications on wake

Try and restart the Apple Watch to see if the issues persist.

What a joke. No the issue most certainly is not resolved haha. The guy I had was very genuine and helpful. He definitely cared and wanted to get an answer for the issue.

I am having the same issue, but my flickering wont stop. I have had my watch for only 4-5 days now and it started out of no where. I have an appointment this weekend.

I called Apple support and they recommended restarting and unpairing and repairing. Unfortunately neither approach worked. Screen still flickers when dim.

They had me do the same thing it didn’t fix anything.

Couldn’t make it happen all day and then in the evening it was easy to reproduce again. Very odd. May well be something related to light level / time of day

Mine is still consistent regardless the time. But after removing the complication the only issue I’m currently having is the bluish color bursts.
