Brand new Ultra watch.
There is a clear cover on the underside that is molded to fit very neatly against the underside of the watch, covering the sensors located there.
It is not indicated in any documentation I can find, thus I am undertain whether to remove it or leave it in place.

You should remove the "clear cover" as explained in If your Apple Watch won't charge or it won't turn on:
"Completely remove any plastic wrap from both sides of the charger."
Appreciate you noticing the crest and wings which commemorate my my first career.
I can’t imagine that the Watch would function with that cover and I would remove it. Personally I always remove those tags😁
Perhaps someone who has received an Ultra will provide an answer based upon their experience.

I saw the item you cited, however, am still unsure about it because:
-The plastic cover is on the back of the watch housing itself, not on the charger unit, and
-the watch does indeed charge with the cover still on it.
That said, I'm just being paranoid about causing grief and/or voiding warranties.
(Don't want to violate federal law, like those tags on pillows and sheets always warn us about).

Based upon viewing this Unboxing Video, I wouldn't remove what you describe as the "clear cover."

My Iwatch 9 will not charge as I had read previously with the plastic on the back. The front plastic film just peeled right off but I can’t figure out how to get the back piece off. Any suggestions ? TIA
