A2. It's an alternative, if nothing is of success.

1. I posted 15 minutes earlier than you did. If I've left a thread open for that long, I recheck before composing.

2. If the first paragraph of your post is true, the second will never work; in the event Apple does patch 12 again, the first won't be true. Checking for updates from a computer is useful or required in some cases, but not this one.
