Cannot Access Apple Watch Control Center after 10.0.1 Update
After I updated my 7 series watch, I cannot access the control center by swiping up on the home screen. I did a hard reset of the watch but it did not help.
Thoughts?

I’m experiencing the same problem. Cannot access my control center the side button previously we used to swipe up. That was very easy. Why you’re making things so complicated for everybody.
Tap the flat oval side button (see pit)

DO NOT hold the button, as that brings up the Emergency calling display.
As this is a user-to-user support forum, no one here was responsible for the change.

yes! This is a widely used feature often needed to be accessed quickly. Why take something away and make it so complicated?! Agree this is the worst update and I want a watch with better ping features
The Control Center can still be accessed quickly. It has not been taken away. You can still ping your watch in the exact same number of steps as before. The explanation of how the change works has been given repeatedly in this thread you apparently didn't read before posting in.
Neither the crown nor the long button opens my watch's Control Center. Now I have to go into Apps (requiring I find reading glasses) > My Devices > select my phone > and have it make a sound.
It was so quick and easy before! This is NOT an improvement for me. :-(
I told Siri to open control center and the water app to eliminate water popped up. That is what I have been trying to access since yesterday. My phone said I had to open the phone first at the same time.
Crazy stuff here.
Same, except mine is series 8 (A2770)
This does NOT work for me, the top button show me my apps on one push, and alarms when i push twice. The bottom button shows me apps, again, but viewed differently. Super frustrating....
I have done the update, and my side button does not bring up my control center. I have an apple apple watch 4. When I push the side button, it just brings up my list of apps.
That’s fine if you have a functioning side button, but how can you now access it without a functioning side button? A broken side button is a common issue with these devices.

It is? Where are you seeing that?

I have an Apple Watch seven and it doesn’t work for me either
where do we find the answer to this problem?
@colleenawms - thank you! This was actually my problem - crown vs side button.
Why change a function that was super simple to use? This change makes no sense to me. I struggle to locate that side button.
This does not work. When I press side button once I get apps not control center. I have no access to control center no matter what I do.
I can not access my control center on my I watch. I never realized how much I relied on that until it was gone! Please help me get it back!!
