Passwords not working on new iPhone 15

I went to settings -> passwords -> password options under use passwords and passkeys from: select iCloud passwords & keychain.

somehow that was deselected when I upgraded my phone and I had to manually go in and select it.

I went to Settings> Passwords> Password Options> Select AutoFill Passwords and Passkeys> Then check all of the following:

iCloud Passwords

iCloud Passwords & Keychain

Chrome

Google

AutoFill helps you sign> Passwords> Password Options>

To clarify, iCloud Keychain does autofill in the password, but the app or site won't take it? If you manually key in that same password, does it work then?

If you're not seeing passwords autofill at all, make sure that iCloud Keychain is enabled on your new iPhone:

I am having the same issue, although a bit tedious the workaround I have used of clicking on the field and then “Autofill” should appear, then “Passwords” and normally at the top is the password to the website I am trying to log into. You have to do it for both the user ID & password, but only thing that has saved me from resetting.

Try changing the password on your old phone (do not erase if given that option after setup is complete). After changing the password, the new Phone will ask for it once, follow instructions, and finally recognize the password in the account.

I switched to MS Edge.

On my phone’s password settings, under password options, I only click on the MS edge browser, and deactivate Keychain, Google, etc.

After adding a new password, I turn off and sync my phone to my laptop.

Also, delete any obsolete passwords. If a website has two or three passwords linked to it in Password Manager, it won’t automatically value when you sign on, and you’ll have to choose the correct one.

My bank account kept locking up, because my mom‘s old password(which I used when I handled her affairs) was also on file as an option.

I found the resolution. The passwords app needs to be downloaded. Then go to General-Autofill & Passwords-Select autofill from Passwords.

Same here. I'm seeing the problem on iOS Version 17.0.3 (iPhone 13 Max) and iPadOS 17.0.2 (M1 iPad Pro 12.9"). However it is working fine on my M1 Mac Studio with Sonoma Version 14.0. I've tried disabling/enabling keychain to no avail. My next step is to Erase All Content and Settings and try from scratch.

Keychain enters old password on an app instead of the latest password for that app.

New iphone 15 pro Keychain enabled. My passwords are neither stored nor populating A big issue as I am completely beholden to Apple.

also i cannot sync my whatsapp Desktop and macbook as me to add device… a code i would simply take a photo of. New iphone says i cannot do this and to check network connections. Im connected I wont allow this even when i turn wifi off

Keychain is enabled for me and I still have to manually enter all of my passwords. They don’t auto populate, not even my email address, it doesn’t give me an option to even view the passwords like it did before. I have to go to settings and copy and paste my passwords manually.

Because of this problem, the iphone is just an annoyance. Same problem. Copy and paste passwords that work on pc but they don't work on iphone. Type exactly and still doesn't work on iphone. Fine on pc.

This is still a problem today, May 13, 2024. I don’t understand why this isn’t working. All passwords transferred correctly from the iPhone 7, but NONE of them are working even though they are the exact same password and they still work on the 7.

I have the same problem it’s not auto filing or giving suggestion to use saved passports and typing log in credentials for every single app every day its not fun and im actually about to stop using apple products.

I can’t acces my bank app anymore because it doesn’t accept my password. I have changed it several times, contacted the help desk from the bank and they say it’s a problem in the phone, not in the app. I’m screwed now because I can’t get to my bank account. How do I solve this?
