Is there a way to change my username within this Apple Support Discussion Community?
Also, is it possible to select an avatar from a different source other than the options that Apple provides here (like a picture from my computer or device)?

The title is ALAC to FLAC. I am the author of the post but it shows someone else’s username as the author.

You can change to one of the "canned" avatars now.
You need to be Level 3 (500 points) to upload a custom avatar. See the "Level up and get perks" section of this Apple help document:

You can change the avatar once you reach 150 points. I will forward your username request to the hosts.
