Issues with trackpad after upgrading to Mac OS Sonom

I upgraded a 2018 MacBook Pro (intel) to Sonoma today and it’s messed up my trackpad (which worked flawlessly before). The issue is that where the mouse appears on the screen is not where the click actually happens. Sometimes the pointer is off by half an inch, sometimes it’s off by a few inches. I’ve restarted the device multiple times but the issue keeps happening. It’s effectively rendered my laptop unusable.

I'm having the same problem. I also have a 2018 Macbook Pro. NP earlier today then went to use the computer after dinner and bingo, track pad not dragging and dropping. It also feels "hard" to push. Works but definitely feels off. I always do the updates. Is this an issue with Sonoma and Macs with Intel chips?

I knew what it's bad idea to touch this raw Sonoma version but my 11.6 Big Sur became so dusty that is you can't open some web pages anymore, I decided to upgrade Safari first but this animal is not living by itself anymore so now I'm here complaining about my problem hahaha...

Trackpad doesn't feel good anymore, some actions I have to repeat 2-3 times! Can't use lookup sometimes, feels like misclicked action from my side. Safari tabs are not responding to my actions! So annoying!!!

In an old Reddit thread from a few years ago, I found a solution that has resolved the issue completely for me. Go to System Settings > Accessibility > Zoom. Try turning off Zoom, or at least changing Zoom to anything but "picture-in-picture." Hope this works for you! It appears this isn't exactly a new problem, but it seems more common with the latest Mac OS update.

Just developed issue after updating to Sonoma 14.3.

I went to System Settings > Accessibility > Zoom to try turning off Zoom, but already OFF.

I toggled "Use Trackpad Gesture to Zoom" several times, testing each time. At first, it worked once and needed to be toggled again to work once. After about five tries, I can drag events in Calendar multiple times.
