Apple watch September 2023 challenge not updating

I recently completed the updates for my watch and phone. Since then, my bike rides toward my monthly goal are not showing up for the monthly challenge even though they are showing up in my activity summary. I have restarted the watch and phone multiple times but that has not helped.
