Turn off automatic connections to Apple devices

Another iPhone got close to mine and to both users surprise they connected and started sharing data. How do I turn this “feature” off I view it as an extreme security risk for a device I never authorized to connect purely because it’s close.

This Google behavior is unrelated to the Apple AirDrop proximity features including NameDrop discussed above.

If Google happens to have the telephone number or acquired another correlation—collecting everything is central to the business of Google—you will want to discuss that with them. (It’s feasible to correlate phones that have simply been moving together, too.)
