Command + Q doesn't work to quit Messages application all the time.

After the Sonoma upgrade, Command + Q doesn't work on the first try. It closes the application but doesn't quit it. I have to either open messages again and press Command + Q or manually close it from Messages -> Quit Messages. Is anyone else facing the same issue?

Hi there hnigampatel,

If this keyboard shortcut is not working as expected all the time, does this happen with multiple apps on your Mac since upgrading to macOS Sonoma or only with the Messages app? That will help us narrow down this behavior further.

Also, let's test to see if this occurs in a test user account as well. This will isolate the cause of this issue to either being system wide or associated with a specific user account. The 'Add a user' section here walks you through how to do this: Add a user or group on Mac

Cheers!
