Hi Dmilley,

We'd like to share a resource to help you manage sharing photos. You'll only want to look at Photos as a whole, and you'll want to go through How Safety Check on iPhone works to keep you safe - Apple Support and How to use Shared Albums in Photos on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac - Apple Support in case this is through a Shared Album. If this is through Messages, it sounds like you would be then sharing an Apple ID and the way to avoid this is to not share an Apple ID and look at Create an Apple ID for your child - Apple Support.

We hope the details help. Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
