IOS 17.0.2 signed me out of iCloud Mail, now I can’t get back in.

Updated to the latest IOS 17.0.2. and it removed half my contacts as well as signed me out of the mail app. I go and sign back in to my iCloud (which is still logged in everywhere else on my iPhone 12) and it’s stuck forever on this graphic of “Signing In…” and nothing ever happens. I’ve tried removing and re-adding the account. I’ve tried restarting the device. I’ve even tried re-adding the mail app. This is a little frustrating, please help.

Hi jwise8721,

You've tried some great troubleshooting steps so far. To isolate the issue further, see if you're able to sign in on the iCloud site: iCloud

There are some additional steps to try here if you're unable to sign in to iCloud: If you can't connect or sign in to iCloud

If you're able to get signed in to the iCloud site, you can try restoring your contacts from there. Here's how: If you accidentally deleted your calendars, bookmarks, or contacts from iCloud

When you restore from an earlier version, the version that you select will replace the existing calendars, bookmarks, or contacts on all your devices. Before you restore an earlier version, iCloud saves your current calendars, bookmarks, or contacts, so that if you want to undo the restore, you can. Just repeat the steps to restore, and select the latest date to restore from.

If you recently made changes, you might lose some data.
You might want to create a backup before restoring.

Restore your contacts or bookmarks from an earlier version
1. Sign in to iCloud.com.
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the window, then select Data Recovery.
3. Select Restore Contacts or Restore Bookmarks.
4. Select Restore next to the date before you deleted the content.
5. Select Restore again to confirm. After the restore completes, you get a notification on iCloud.com and an email at the address on file with your Apple ID.

If these issues continue, reach out to Apple Support directly so they can look into this with you further. They can be contacted here: Get Support or by calling the most applicable phone number from this list: Contact Apple for support and service.

Regards.
