Broken hinge iMac 27 inch late 2013

Yesterday evening the hinge of my 27 inch iMac late 2013 suddenly broke. After some reading on Google I learned that there was a factory defect with these models (for which Apple even refunded repairs). After having contacted 'Apple support' their answer was 'obsolete'. I find this rather disturbing. Are there others who experienced the same situation ? And what did you do ? Thanks.

Did late 2013 model ever ship with fix version? I am looking for a used iMac and late 2013 model falls into my budge. But after I googled to see if any potential defects some people mentioned the hinge could break anytime. I am wondering did Apple ever release new version that has the fixed hinge? If so does anyone know when and is there a way to check? There is a used one that I checked with the serial number which shows purchased in May 2014, could that one already have the fix version?

Small bulge near MacBook Air (2020) hinge a day after purchasing So I recently purchased a MacBook Air with the M1 chip and I’ve set up the computer. However, after using it today, I found a small bulge nearby the hinge. I’ve read some stuff about the weaknesses often associated with the hinge of the MacBook, so I thought I’d bring it up. Should I try to return the computer or get it replaced under warranty? Or is this something normal-ish that would not be a long-lasting cause for concern? I plan on using this computer for college, so it’s longevity is essential. I have attached a few photographs (my apologies if they were not inserted properly).

How can I fix a loose MacBook Air hinge? I can feel that my brand new MacBook m4 which I took 1 month ago is getting a hinge issue when I am taking the laptop in my hand the hinge is getting lose and it’s loosing its magnetic touch and it’s getting lil open is there any chance that I can fix it!!!? FWIW, OWC sells a replacement hinge.

Any product by any manufacturer can fail at any time. A friend of mine's trans axle fell out of his Porsche on the way home from the dealership. 😎
