Just curious, but when you play games do you have 'Game Mode' on?

I noticed that one of the features when game mode is on is "Bluetooth sample rate is doubled for wireless controllers".

Do you see any improvement if this mode is turned off?

Same issue here, starting with Sonoma.

I've opened a bug ticket with Steelseries about it, and am in contact with their support. I suggest the rest of you who experience it do the same thing, as they probably need to release a firmware update that makes the controller compatible with Sonoma's bluetooth implementation (as pointed out by Barney-15E). The more reports they get about it, the better.

I just discovered the problem and it still exists (MacBook Air M2). For me this is occurring with Asphalt 8 on Arcade. Lots of fun to be in a race and suddenly have no control over the car...it seems to pop back where it dropped, but not much help if you were headed for a wall at 190 mph LOL.

However, I found advice from jazhanel (leave controller connected for a while and it becomes stable) to work for me.

Royal pain, but functional workaround.

An Apple retail store sells many products not made by nor endorsed in any way by Apple.

Since Apple did not make the controller, it most certainly is a third-party issue. But, it certainly can be an issue with Sonoma, or with the third-party drive not being compatible with Sonoma's bluetooth implementation.

Try disconnecting it from bluetooth and forget the device, then reconnect it.

How many bluetooth devices do you have connected with that controller?

Hey Peeps, if anyone is looking for a solution, I think I might have found one. An Apple representative told me to perform SMC and NVRAM reset to fix any potential issues that might cause this. I did only SMC reset and the controller is not disconnecting anymore.

I suggest you all a watch a YouTube video (any video per se) on how to this because I am not sure I have done it correctly tbh because my Mac basically just turned on after I pressed the said buttons.

Let me know if this works for you all, please let everyone know.

I have found the disconnect reconnect BT routine to be a red herring. Only thing that works is to let it be for 10 mins: I.e., leave it connected and sit idle, the connection will stabilize after a bit. My work around is to leave it plugged in and charging near my Mac Book, which keeps the controller on and connected. When I pick it up it will be ready and stable.

But we need Apple / SteelSeries to step up and provide a real fix! We paid the Apple Tax for licensed Apple products and expect better than having to troubleshoot it to get it to work. It should just work!

Disconnecting and reconnecting my Nimbus+ does not generally work for my controller. I find that once it disconnects during game play and the lights start flashing, if I hit the menu button it connects relatively quickly (but this is still a pain.) Sometimes the controller eventually gets a good connection that doesn't disconnect, but I don't know what triggers it.

My question to the group is what is the firmware version on your Nimbus? According to my Steelcase GG app that I just recently reinstalled on my Mac, my Nimbus+ is only at version 1.0.1.0. Surely they have come out with firmware updates, but that is all the software will show me. It does not say it needs an update.

Nimbus+ firmware is 1.0.1.0 and it is the last, they never updated it.

I suggest all to resell or ask for a refund for this crap controller.

Buy 8bitdo ultimate 2.4G gamepad, it works like a charm with macOS and has a firmware update utility which is macOS native and doesn't need an idiotic software like Steelseries GG.
