failed verification on email on my iMac

why am I getting Verification failed when I try to sign into my Apple ID. My password is correct. Error is Login Failed.

Mail & Office 365 Verification Failure My Mac was off for about a week and when I started it back up, Mail gave me an error stating "Unable to verify account name or password". It works perfectly in Web Mail, and on both my iPhone and iPad. Doing the same as other users with the same issue, I deleted the account, reset the password, restarted everything, deleted everything related to MS in the Keychain, searched for help online - Nothing solves the issue.
