You can’t. A co-owner is exactly that, a co-owner, and has equal responsibilities with the other co-owner. Each owner is equally responsible for the entire account balance. It’s a joint account. Co-owners can leave the joint account, but when they do, the joint account is permanently closed. Each owner is now individually responsible for the entire payment each month. Any late payments will affect both credit reports.

You can reapply for an individual Apple Card account again, but remember, the full balance of the account, if any, is listed under your utilization, and it’s a closed account on your report.
