When I buy a song i like to listen to it first. Will not play

It's possible that this type of issue is the result of an issue with the internet connection on the device. This can usually be indicated by the spinning circle continuing to spin infinitely (or producing a network-related) error after trying to preview a song in the iTunes Store.
You may try connecting the device to a different connection, if possible. For example on an iPhone you may try seeing if the same thing occurs when connected to a strong Wi-Fi network, and then turning off Wi-Fi to see if it also happens on cellular data.
In some instances a restart of the device, or a quit/relaunch of the app, can help to refresh things and resolve the issue.
