Why is iPhone wallpaper blurry?

My log on screen photo and contact-if-found is blurred. My image and wording shows in the back but can’t be seen or read. My desktop is just a color. How can I unblur it?

If you go into settings, wallpaper, pick the wallpaper you want, hit the customize button, when that screen comes go to the bottom of the screen that comes up and on the very far bottom right is a small blue circle that says blur; just tap it and it will unblur the background. I had that same issue and the blur button is definitely there.

The “blur” button is for Home Screen image not for locked screen image. It is terrible idea to push the locked screen image to the back and make it barely visible. Your suggestion doesn’t fix the locked screen image issue. Let apple respond, obviously they think it is a good idea or simply made a mistake in their recent update.

You are a certified genius. Every single solution I have found has been complete junk. There is a massive difference between 'my whole lockscreen is blurred' and 'the top of my wallpaper is a bit blurry'. If your lockscreen looks like you're staring at it through a layer of glue, it is your focus settings that are the issue.

Thank you so much. 30 minutes of absolute pain resolved.

This may be what ends my apple usage. I’m an artist and set my lock screen as my reference photo because it’s a pita to unlock my phone every few minutes. This “feature” is absolutely moronic, why even give an option to set the lock screen wallpaper if we can’t even see the thing?? This plus not being able to shut off the idiotic change wallpaper in lock mode, because Seriously who tf needs to do that?! Annnnd the fact Apple decided to auto capitalize “lock screen”; cherry on top tbh because why? There’s no legitimate grammatical reason for that hyperlexic’s nightmare to exist.

Unrelated but related, Apple making it as hard as possible to utilize cross systems and changing everything between two phones/mac vs PC, charging ungodly prices for what’s essentially become a disposable phone because they’re built to break, and ignore feedback and continuing to make the stupidest, most useless changes possible is mind bogglingly idiotic. I’m done, will be switching to android next phone.
