After updating to IOS 16.7 my iPhone X FaceID was disabled claim a problem with True depth camera was detected. There has been no trauma to this phone to cause this, only the update. Is this “Update or Die”?
Has anyone tried restoring the iPhone to see if that helped?
went to apple, they reset it, did a hard reset and even plugged it in for diagnostic. then told me sorry nothing they could do. so not cool. trying to upsell phones an get their stocks to go up.
I read the article, there is nothing wrong with my camera. The only thing that changed is installing this update. I have supported, defended, promoted, and championed Apple products since their inception but it would appear that this is malicious to boost sales.

I have the same issue. Going to get it repaired is a pain. Any idea when the next iOS update will be available?
Thank you for sharing. It would appear to be that our phones are fine but features have been disabled by the update to force us to buy. Kind of like the battery issue they got sued over.
