Apple Watch face won’t swipe since update

Can’t swipe watch face since update. Fix was to press on screen and swipe to face desired but that doesn’t even work anymore. Turned off watch and done with iWatch for awhile till this silly update is dealt with. Feels good actually to go back to an old school watch.

Your Apple Watch was Working As Designed. The 1 second firm press to change mode and allow swiping is the new way in WatchOS 10. I have no idea why it might have stopped working, but a reboot fixes many glitches so it should still work when you power up again. Chances are that was a one time glitch.

And curious, does anyone know how Apple would think introducing an extra step in the UX is a good thing?

Please see my previous post in this thread. Making it need two different actions is a common way to prevent unintended unguarded events, just like you have to put your foot on the brake before you can shift the transmission out of park.

Sure. Not buying the explanation. I haven’t seen any complaints about accidental swipes…causing what, the next watch face to come up? How is that a bigger deal then now I can’t easily swipe to another face with options I use regularly. Sorry, but your explanation is weak at best.

You can not buy it if you want. I certainly didn't waste anyone time by coming here on the forums and complaining that I didn't like the feature. I just submitted feedback to Apple. Apparently, I was not alone.

And why do you think your current dislike of not being able to swipe is somehow more important than my dislike of accidentally swiping?

If people were happy about it, they’d be talking about what an amazing feature it is… like you apparently think it is… only you. Lol.

Having spent 20 years on this forum, and twenty years in the cellular phone industry, I can tell you that, no, that's not what happens. Only very rarely do people talk about how much they like a current feature and then generally only in response to lots of other people talking about how awful it is and how much better the previous feature was.

I really like the new feature but, I didn't go creating my own thread about it. Why would I? It's not a technical support issue.

I want my face swap back this is literally stealing previus content to the costumer …

I don't think Apple will lose a significant number of customers over this. And, my opinion has about exactly as much chance of being right as yours. Apple can't steal from you what you don't own. And you don't own the watchOS. Apple does, and they retain the right (it's in the license you agreed to) to change it whenever they want.

I bet when the new ultra watch 3 will be out next year the feature will be back on only that models

Adding wishful thinking to hyperbole, I see.

This is my third Apple Watch. I always have multiple watch faces enabled and I have NEVER had an accidental switch. I also find it very hard to believe Apple really got that many complaints.

And, before all this start, it never would have occurred to me that people would change watch faces multiple times a day. I also find it hard to believe that there are that many people who do. But, the fact that I find it hard to imagine doesn't necessarily make it so.
