Macbook AIR - Not going to sleep

Hello everyone. I recently updated my macbook air to MacOS Sonoma. I use an external monitor plugged thru the USB-C port with a Satechi adapter and when I close the lid of the Mac my main screen flips to the external monitor and it wont go to sleep as it used to before the update. I can continue using my Mac whilst the lid is closed, has anyone had this issue with the new update?

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities btabarini,

It would be expected for you to be able to use your Mac with the lid closed, while it's connected to an external display, power, and a mouse and keyboard. You can learn a bit more about this, here: Use an external display with your MacBook Air

You can put your Mac to sleep, either from the Apple menu in the top left corner, using the guidance found on this page: Set sleep and wake settings for your Mac

Cheers!
