GPS location in Ultra2 apple watch not working. No trackback.

I have been unable to trackback using the compass application on the watch. The latitude and longitude won't display in the info in the compass application, nor in the wayfinder face for the watch. I have spent a very long time trying to debug the issue and am looking to return the watch due to this failure.

I have OS 10.0.2 installed.
