When updating the OS to MacOS Sonoma, the system does not recognize the login and password

I accessed my Mac through MacOS Ventura with the correct password normally, even when it went into screen saver, I always typed the same password to exit it. I received an update proposal for MacOS Sonoma, I updated the system and when logging in with the new operating system, it does not recognize the name and password. I can't get in at all. It appears to be a bug. What do I do to be able to access?

I wish I didn't upgrade. Honestly, this is ridiculous!! I've been using Macs for over 20 years... this is a first and it's disgraceful to release an upgrade with such an oversight.

No passwords worked for me so I typed in the answer to one of my security questions saved with Apple and it worked. There is something seriously messed up with apples software. My suggestion to you is to instead of passwords you think they may want, there are 2-3 security questions you filed out a while ago. Try those answers. As messed up as this is, mine worked. Now I am stuck at another level. This is crazy. I have a new air mac 2 that I may have used for 40hrs so far in its life. I probably have to go to see a “genius” at a store to ultimately fix this problem. What a pain in my ***

I'm having the same problem every time I turn on the computer after a shut down or a restart. In my case I use two keyboard profiles: US and Latin American. My default keyboard is US but for reasons unknown, every time I restart, the keyboard in the login screen appears as Latin America. I changed the keyboard to US and the login worked. But every time I restart I need to change the keyboard profile in the login screen.

This didn’t make sense to me until I experienced it myself. When I booted into recovery to try to circumvent the login issue, the startup screen had my username displayed as my whole name all one word lowercase. (This was never my username in the past at any point.) I rebooted normally and this time put in the username I saw on the recovery screen with my usual password and I got in and Sonoma finished loading. What a joke! Apple screwed up huge on this one. So hard to imagine this slipped through quality control but here we are…
