OpenOffice blocked by OS 12.7 Monterey

Last week i got an iMac with Monterey 12.7, my old one had El Capitan and OpenOffice worked nice.

so i downloaded OpenOffice and installed. But by opening a document the sign says : warning, This app is made by an unknown developer so its blocked. Went to 'instellingen' > security and i see the button Open Anyway, so i did and i could open the document. But when i closed it and some minutes later try to open, the sign says : Warning..etc.

so i deinstalled OpenOffice and downloaded again. Installed again, but did not help.

so i tried LibreOffice, downloaded and try to instal, but already blocked...

what to do?

i would read

Open a Mac app from an unidentified developer - Apple Support

but first it was called staroffice and then they made an open source version called openoffice but when it was sold to oracle all the main developers left and made libreoffice it seems to be the suit that is being actively developed on if I had issues with openoffice then I would give libreoffice a try.

with enabled rights to open apps from unsigned developers and using rightclick to open the first time I've never had issues running such apps

Your signature indicates you have a 21.5" iMac which has an Intel CPU. You have to delete the LibreOfice dmg you downloaded and download the Intel version.

Where did you download it from? LibreOffice 7.6.2 works fine in Monterey.

right click then it should give you a dialog where you can choose open

I just realized you have downloaded the Apple silicon version of LibreOffice which certainly wouldn't be compatible on an intel iMac.

Try FreeOffice.

It's as compatible as the other free suites but with a smaller footprint. It necessarily has fewer bells and whistles than LibreOffice but it has the core apps I need.
