My iPhone won’t access data when roaming
When away from home, cannot put in address and get directions on map. Also, cannot access any other data when away from home.

Be sure to check and see if the status bar of the device shows 'No Service', 'Searching', or 'SOS'/'SOS only'. These can indicate it's having issues connecting to cellular data, and in those instances this page can provide a few different steps that may resolve things: If you see No Service, Searching, or SOS on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Depending on a few things, you may also wish to check and see if Data Roaming is off, which is found in Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options.
Also ensure the apps you're looking to use have cellular data access enabled for them. This can be toggled on/off for each app in Settings > Cellular > Scroll down to the list of apps.
If nothing above has helped be sure to try checking with your mobile carrier as they can help to investigate things further as well.
