Since upgrading to Sonoma 14 and iPhone 12 Pro Max i0S 17.02 the iPhone and my iWatch7don't work well together. Example before upgrading to latest iOS I could set an alarm on the iPhone and I could pause or cancel on my iWatch. This doesn't work after upgrading to latest iOS. Any help or suggestions to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.
I just tried an alarm on my iPhone, it popped up and was cancelled from my Apple Watch. So.. it works and the problem you are seeing is probably settings or a corrupted upgrade. I am not aware of any obvious suspects in the settings.
You have tried the forced reset without success. The next step is probably to unpair the |A|pple Watch, then re-pair and setup again. That has a very high probability for success.

Have you also upgraded the watch to watchOS 10.0.1? Everything works better together when they are all on the latest software.

Give this a try with the phone and watch. This is the first step for trouble shooting these devices. It's like rebooting your computer.
Sonoma, the newest version of macOS should have absolutely nothing to do with how your Watch functions.

The two should work together if you've set them up for the watch to unlock the Mac when in proximity.

Tried that it didn't work. I now wish i never updated the os on the watch and phone
watchOS 10.0.2 is strictly for the series 9 and Ultra 2 Watches.
The OP has a series 7.
