Ah, the digital age, where deleting an email on one device doesn't grant you the satisfaction of seeing it vanish from all others. This peculiar dance of synchronization can be a tiny bit aggravating, to say the least.
Alright, let’s unravel this modern-day mystery. Your devices are supposed to sing in harmony when it comes to syncing, yet they seem to be hitting different notes. The culprit might be the settings orchestrating this email choir.
1. IMAP vs POP:
- Firstly, ensure that your email accounts are set up using IMAP, which is the maestro that keeps your email in sync across multiple devices, unlike its cousin POP that has a penchant for solo performances.
2. Check Email Settings:
- Go through the settings in your Mac Mail and iPhone Mail to make sure they've been invited to the same synchronization party. Look for any settings related to mail syncing or deleting, and ensure they're set up to perform the way you want.
3. Server Settings:
- Sometimes, the server settings decide to go rogue. Double-check that the server settings match on both your Mac and iPhone.
4. Update Software:
- An outdated system or app might be the party pooper here. Ensure your software and apps are updated.
5. Re-add Email Account:
- If all else fails, consider removing and re-adding your email account on both devices. It's like giving them a gentle nudge to remind them they're on the same team.
6. Mobile Outlook 365:
- The plot thickens with Mobile Outlook 365 in the mix. You might need to fiddle with the sync settings within the app to get it to play nice with the others.
You might have to put on your detective hat and do a bit of digging through settings and preferences to get to the bottom of this sync saga. And if the tech gremlins continue to taunt you, reaching out to your email provider's support might be the next logical step in this digital drama.

Appreciate the thoughts but none of these things worked. When I delete on Mac Mail it doesn’t delete on iPhone Mail. I’ve even tried removing accounts and the problem persists. This began when I moved to iOS 17. So it must be an 17 issue. Anyone else having the same problems?
