After updating to MacOS 14 Sonoma, my Canon PIXMA 8620 scanner no longer works if I select it from Printers and Scanners in System Preferences or in Print Center app. If I select Open Scanner, Image Capture opens and says no scanner selected. To scan, have to open a separate app, Canon IJ Scan Utility Lite. Printing still works as usual.

I was able to find updated driver and utility here https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/canoscan-lide-220
This worked for my Pixma MG7550 too. Download v2.4.1 of the IJ Scan Utility and v5 of the ICA Scanner Driver. Multi page PDF scans restored!
I tried your solution and found it worked although you have to click several times on the shared button then click on the printer but what a laborious way of scanning compared to the old way. Apple I think you have it wrong again this time!!!

It works but only as a single page and only to a JPG. Not much use for creating a PDF document.

Thanks for reply but I have an HP Envy6000 series not a Canon. I have no useful facilities in settings so the thread is a little irrelevant for me?

Canon has been updating it's drivers for Sonoma. My LIDE scanners and large bed printer work fine.
"Shareware" - retail product costing £50 for something that either the Mac or Canon ought to support with the product!
