Apple id still shows after changing it

i changed my apple id but the old one still shows under the profile picture in settings, everywhere else its the other apple id but when asking for verification or 2FA it corresponds to the old one, how do i unlink or remove this?? its not going away. i checked all icloud and everything while signing into the other one it still asks this but shows the icloud id as the other one. theres no mention of the old one anywhere how do i make it go away? and it sends mails to the other one gmail that your 'apple id information has been updated', but i want it to send it to the other one, how to remove this unwanted email address associated with this apple id?
