Apple doesn't send you the update, if your phone qualifies, you can install the update yourself.
• If you have an iPhone 5S or 6/6plus, the highest you can update to is 12.5.7
• If you have an iPhone 6S through 7, or SE 1st generation, you can update to 15.8.2
• If you have an iPhone 8 or X, you can update to 16.7.7
• If you have an iPhone SE (2nd generation or later), or XR through 15, you can update to 17.4.1
Go to Settings > General > Software Update.

No, the iPhone X cannot run iOS 17, it doesn't have the hardware needed to run this version.
Did you read the thread? The answer is no and has been no and won't be anything but no for iPhone X.

Did you read ANY of the six pages of the same question over and over and over and the same answer over and over which is NO. iPhone X cannot run iOS 17.
Read the thread. It's been explained. iPhone X lacks the hardware required to update to iOS 17. If you need iOS 17, then you'll have to buy a newer iPhone.

if this is the case then we have to switch to android
You own an iPhone which is too old and lacks the hardware required to run iOS 17. If you think Android phones update forever (they don't by the way), then sure, go buy one. It doesn't matter to anyone here if you think Android is a better option for you. But remember, if you do buy an Android, the day will come when it too cannot update to what the most current Android OS version is.

I am not able to update IOS 17 in Iphone 10. Hence i am not able run my bank apps and other apps
as they request me to upgrade to IOS to 17 or higher
OK. So what’s your question? That model was discontinued 4 1/2 years ago. If your bank has chosen not to support ios 16, which is as far as that device can go, that’s something you would need to take up with them.
Hello~ If you have an iPhone X …that’s correct as you can’t update to iOS 17.

iPhone X is not compatible with iOS 17
I’m in a similar boat I have a 13 mini but I don’t have service on it and it’s a bit cracked (not to sound ungrateful) but mainly it doesn’t have service I just use it on WiFi being that I didn’t have a phone when I moved in with my babydaddy two years ago, he bought me a prepaid Samsung then awhile in a bought myself a 13 and unfortunately it broke so I got super late on my payments then got pregnant and stopped working to be a stay at home mom but that’s besides the point, my babydaddy upgraded his phone and gave me his old one (the 13 mini with no service) now that I’ve had my baby and stay home with her while her dad is working so I need a phone with service in case the WiFi were to go down and I had to contact anyone or have an emergency so my mom graciously gave me her iPhone X in perfect condition (and In my opinion I’d consider it still one of the newer iPhones I mean he11 they come out each year sometimes multiple within a year) but I’m now learning it is too old to support any new updates from here on out but don’t worry it will still operate fine just update it to the highest ios it’ll support which is 16.7.7 and you’re all good ! The only thing is there will be some new features you may not get access to and maybe some emojis you’ll have to miss out on but other than that it’ll be fine !
The "cause of the issue" is that your iPhone X is NOT COMPATIBLE with iOS 17.
Please take a moment to actually read the discussion thread before posting a 'me too'.
That’s not going to happen. The iPhone X does not have the hardware necessary to run it.
It is impossible to update the iPhone X to iOS 17.
Apple desperately needs to change that or upgrade their software!
No, you desperately need to upgrade your phone to a model that will run current software.

I need the update for my Apple Watch to work 😭😭
Yes you do. And that’s a good reason to use an iPhone XS or newer.
