Apple doesn't send you the update, if your phone qualifies, you can install the update yourself.
• If you have an iPhone 5S or 6/6plus, the highest you can update to is 12.5.7
• If you have an iPhone 6S through 7, or SE 1st generation, you can update to 15.8.2
• If you have an iPhone 8 or X, you can update to 16.7.7
• If you have an iPhone SE (2nd generation or later), or XR through 15, you can update to 17.4.1

Then you will need to buy a new phone that will run iOS 17.

Not really all that interesting, but certainly no surprise here.
"Later" means phones that came after the iPhone X.....not before.
For example, iPhone XR, XS, 11, 12, 13 etc all came after the iPhone X, so they are newer phones that can be updated to iOS 17.
No need to worry about how, because it’s not possible.
If you had read through this post, you would see that this question has been answered many times. The answer is still no.
I’m gonna send a feedback to Apple and tell them to try to bring iOS 17 to iPhone X
If the iPhone X could handle iOS 17......(it can't).....the iPhone would run incredibly slow and probably so hot that you would be begging to move back to iOS 16......(which you would not be able to do).
I also want iOS 17 and the iPhone X is really special and popular
Are you really asking the same question as others and expecting to hear a different answer?
If you really do want iOS 17, you will buy a newer phone that is capable of running iOS 17.

The IPhone X doesn’t have iOS 17 it’s really annoying because on of my friends have it since the have an IPhone XS model. Apple desperately needs to change that or upgrade their software!
