AppleID change no longer possible?

It seems changing appleID process has changed and no longer works. After going to AppleID.Apple.com and trying to change my email addresss a pop up instructs me to go to another of my devices. But there is nothing on any of my other devices to do.. seems a broken instruction between devices on the same appleID. Has anyone else experienced this and found a workaround?

This is not the answer, or at least it is not relevant to my issue. Unfortunately apple is very unclear on the topic.

I have since found the answer:

Apple does NOT allow users to change their apple ID from one icloud address to another icloud address.

They only allow you to change frome icloud to third party address, or vice versa.

If you want to change from one icloud to another icloud, you first must change to a third party email, then wait at least 30 days, and only then you can change from the temporary third party email to a new icloud address.

Hi there,

try this in order to change your Apple id

How to change your Apple ID to a different email address

  1. Go to appleid.apple.com and sign in.
  2. In the Sign-In and Security section, choose Apple ID.
  3. Enter the email address that you want to use as your Apple ID.
  4. Choose Change Apple ID.
  5. If you changed your Apple ID to a third-party email address, check your email for a verification code, then enter the code. Learn what to do if you didn't get the email.
  6. If you use services like iCloud or Messages to share with friends and colleagues, sign in to those services with your updated Apple ID.
