Apple ID change not showing

I just changed my apple ID to my new email address. When I open up settings and go into the first section, "Name, Phone Number, Email," the new email address is shown and is indicated as my apple ID. When I go back out into "Settings," my old apple ID is still shown, and I've already been asked to give a password for something, and it showed my old apple ID and would only accept the password associated with the old apple ID. When I login to apple online, it also shows the correct apple ID. Any suggestions for getting my apple ID to show correctly on my device?
