Customizing WhatsApp notification tone

Dear all,

I am posting this question here because I have found it difficult to customize my WhatsApp notification tone for selected contacts.

I can buy from the iTunes Store notification tones or add new ones to the iPhone using iTunes for Windows, but when I try to select any of them for WhatsApp, I only get the traditional list of tones for iPhone.

Has anybody experienced the same? Did you get how to make it work?

Custom text alert tones can no longer be assigned under iOS 17. I'm having a problem that has started with iOS17 on my iPhone 14 pro. All my custom text notification sounds, can no longer be applied to additional contact's text alerts. Custom ringtones are fine however. The custom text notification sounds are still listed on the phone as ringtones and I can see them if I try to assign a custom ring tone but if I try to use them for a text notification they aren't listed, only Apple's sounds are listed. I did report the problem to Apple the day after I updated to iOS 17 when I first noticed the issue. In the process of trying to resolve the issue I also managed to loose the use of the previously set up text alerts that had been working under iOS 17 up to that point. Very frustrating but still liking the improvements in the new OS!

Can I use custom sounds for WhatsApp notifications on iPhone? Is it possible to use ones own notification sound for the Whatsapp application on an iPhone 13 Pro? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Custom Text Tones Gone in iOS 17?!? After updating to iOS 17, I no longer have the ability to use my custom text tones for individual contacts. They don't even appear as an option. Everything was fine until I went to change one. I tried to change it back to the original tone I was using and it's gone. PLEASE tell me this is just a bug that will get fixed?!?
