Would an Apple Watch ultra 2 bought in the us work in Europe?

I am a bit confused as I have read that the apple watch in the US and in Europe is the same model (A2986). The only difference I could find was the LTE band support, and that the US model does not list band 20 as a support LTE band. Is this a difference in the models or just which bands are in use in the different regions. I have checked the Servicing Cell info where I live, and I have noticed that band 20 sometimes is in use. Would this mean that it would be a bad idea to buy an apple watch ultra 2 during my vacation in the US?

I too just spent ages researching this question and could not find a definitive answer. I ultimately decided to give it a go and bought a Ultra2 in USA and have been able to connect cellular in UK (Vodafone) with no issues.

I see the post above connected to Vodaphone so I'm hopeful. Thanks.

There are reports that this does work. But it is up to the carrier as to whether or not they want to support a U.S. Apple Watch.

NOTE: The warranty is country specific, so you would have to return to the U.S. for warranty service or pay out-of-pocket.

We are just users like you.

I have seen 1 post in this forum that said they were able to use one of the new Apple Watches in both the U.S. an the EU.

That is a very small sample size.

Until we see lots of success (or failure) posts, we as volunteers will not really have s solid answer.

But the warranty is still country specific, so getting warranty service away from where it was purchased might be an issue.

Also some countries limit the features the Apple watch is allowed to use

So cross country purchase may result in feature loss for the user.

I just spent a couple of hours investigating the exact same issue before I discovered this discussion.

Technically speaking this list of devices, model numbers and frequencies speaks for itself and confirms that there is only ONE model version (A2986) of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 which should consequently be able to support all networks and frequencies all around the world... I am just confused because further up on that website it states "There is no single model that supports cellular service worldwide."

It would be great if someone who recently purchased an Apple Watch Ultra 2 in the US/ Canada could confirm whether it works just fine in Europe/ UK.

I am looking into buying it in Canada to activate and use it in the UK...
