how can i access my card if the apple id changed on my phone

I changed the apple ID on my phone to make it different than my wife's phone because she needs to have her phone say her name on correspondences as she now has a new business. I chose to change my apple id because I knew that there would be challenges and I have more tech experience. The only remaining problem is that I am the one who uses apple pay and have the apple card. It however, is not accessible on my phone anymore. Is there a way to link the card to my new apple id? At this moment I cannot even check the account information.

An Apple ID is more than just an email. Apple ID is your Apple Account, iCloud account and your Apple Card Mastercard Account. The email is basically used as the username and your password is, well, your password. Username (email) can be changed. But the account cannot be transferred. Your Apple Card is tied to that account and cannot be changed.

If you contact Goldman Sachs, they’ll tell you to close the current account and open a new account for your new Apple ID/iCloud Account.

You’re not the first person to have done this. I’ve dealt with this exact situation with hundreds of members here in the community.
