Apple TV pause issue

I had updated my Apple TV 4K ( old one, with the black remote ) to tv os 17 and then after that whenever I try to pause any video that uses the Apple TV player, like in prime video, the video doesn’t pause but just mutes and the video keeps on playing.

I have tried restarting the Apple TV, I have tried updating the Apple TV, but still the issue is present, it gets very annoying.


Someone please help on how to fix this issue.

Else try this for any misbehaving app:

  1. Force-quit the app, then relaunch and try again.
  2. If the issue persists, force-quit the app, restart the device, then relaunch and try again.
  3. If the issue still persists, delete the app, re-download and try again.
  4. If the issue still persists after that, then contact the app developer for further assistance.


[I can’t replicate your issue. Prime pauses as expected for me with the black remote.]
