Strange mouse click issue after updating Sonoma on MacBook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro M1 2020, it's having some strange mouse click issues right after I updated to macOS Sonoma. Anyone having the same problem? I hope Apple fixes the problem soon, it's irritating.

It was happening because I had McAfee total protection enabled. It's all fixed, mcAfee total protection will have to come out with an an update so it will be compatible with macOS Sonoma. I contacted Apple about it and they was doing a screen share. I disabled the virus protection.

Same problem here.

I called the support and they told me to get in : library/preferences/ delete the touchpad and mouse drivers and restart

I did it and it seemed to work for the rest of the day

This morning i have the same issues , i delete the drivers but this time i had no success

Very very annoying

If i wanted to loose my time fighting with the drivers i'd bought a Pc for 350 €

I have this problem on a M1 MacBook and I use a Logitech MX 3 mouse. What I can tell is it seems to vary on the application if it's in fullscreen mode or not. When I can't get it working, I'll try to exit fullscreen mode and it seems to help. It's not guaranteed but I wonder if it's maybe a display issue where on fullscreen, for some reason it shifts where it thinks the mouse is. Could be wrong, I have no idea to be honest.

same issue here. macOS Sonoma 14.3 with mx master 3s. If I connect Magic Mouse or razor death adder (wired) => no problems at all.

I have reported an issue I am encountering with my Logitech MX Master 3S mouse when connected to my Mac running on an M1 Pro chip. The problem is that the menu highlights, which are visible when using the trackpad, disappear when I connect the mouse. This issue persists across all applications on the macOS.

Here is a summary of the problem and troubleshooting steps I have already taken:

  • When the MX Master 3S is connected, menu selections are not highlighted, which affects my ability to navigate through menu options.
  • I have ensured that the mouse is fully charged and the receiver is correctly plugged in.
  • I have tried using different USB ports for the receiver with no change in the situation.
  • The Logitech Options software is up-to-date.
  • I have checked macOS accessibility settings and found no options that would seem to affect this.
  • I have not found a method to reset the NVRAM on my M1 Pro Mac, as suggested for similar issues on Intel-based Macs.
  • This issue does not occur when the MX Master 3S is disconnected and the trackpad is used.
  • I have checked on another Mac and same issue with this mouse there. I have tried this mouse on windows - no issues there.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance you could provide to resolve this issue. If there are any further troubleshooting steps you would recommend or if this is a known issue with a potential upcoming fix, please let me know.

I thought it was just me! This sound like the issue I have too. New MacBook Pro M2 (2023) Mac OS Sonoma. Magic Mouse. Mainly an issue in one App I work in, but it is my main job, so that is where I would notice it most. Totally random, on left mouse click I get a "beep" but the click does not work. It is incredibly frustrating. It seems to be totally random. Some days fine, other days this issue starts. Reboot seems to help for a while. It is affecting my productivity. After reading some of these posts I have switched to a wired mouse. Will see if that helps. :(

finally buy a new magic mouse bcause the developer won't fix the bug since update and it works as i predicted i assume if u have let's say magic mouse working before sonoma update and then fail, you have to buy a new mouse like logitech bluetooth mouse or you can try your friend's magic mouse first.. i have try some and works, but i don't know just a thought.. now my mx3s is on the shelf.. i do really hope they fix the issue on new os..

Same problem here too, also with Sonoma running on an M1 MacBook Pro and Logitech MX Master 3s mouse (have tried connecting via both bluetooth and the Logi Bolt receiver and encountered the same problem either way). No antivirus software installed.

When it happens roughly every other day or so, it seems to manifest in one of two ways: sometimes clicks are ignored completely, other times they behave like a right-click/ctrl-click. I haven't tried uninstalling Logi Options+ yet, but will probably give that a shot when I get a chance.

I’m on the newest MBP using LG 5k ultrafine monitor and recently updated to Sonoma. Since updating I’ve been through **** with the mouse tooltip and strange display glitches.

Using adobe Illustrator and photoshop, menus become unclickable, weird zoom glitches, and tooltip glitches where clicks do not align with the tooltip.

The biggest issue that I’ve been facing is anytime I click on an object within my art boards in both programs, the object moves about 5 pixels to the left with each click. Makes it absolutely impossible to work.

Hope this gets solved soon, in the meantime I’ll be downgrading to the previous OS.

Ridiculous.
