Strange mouse click issue after updating Sonoma on MacBook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro M1 2020, it's having some strange mouse click issues right after I updated to macOS Sonoma. Anyone having the same problem? I hope Apple fixes the problem soon, it's irritating.

OMG, I'm having a very hard time with my iMac. It's driving me crazy and I'm thinking it was a biggest mistake of my life purchasing this computer with all the problems it has. I've had this problem with the mouse before but after updating to Sonoma it gets worse. I can't do anything. my space doesn't work in some apps and also I can't open any files using space bottom anymore. the mouse has glitch a lot. for example when I'm using Pages and start typing pages starts moving and I can't type. and there is a weird blue boarder I can see in my screen all the time.

This is completely ridiculous. This issue has been bugging me for 3

months now. At first, I thought it was caused by some app I had

installed. I completely reinstalled macOS. Then I considered it must be a

hardware issue, so I thought about buying a new MacBook. Now I'm

thinking about buying a Windows laptop. How is it possible that such a

bug exists for so long?

For those of you still having this issue, please try what was suggested in this thread by dcmaccer

This was the only thing that worked and I haven't had any additional problems come up based on the change in over two weeks.

The link icon in this forum does not work so I can't get the link to his thread and replying it doesn't seem to bring it to the front, so also pasting what he posted:

"This might be overkill, but this is what I did to fix the issue (feel free to tweak my solution):

System Settings ==> Desktop & Dock ==>

Desktop & Stage Manager

Show Items

      • Uncheck On Desktop
  • Uncheck In Stage Manager

Click wallpaper to reveal desktop ==> Set to Only in Stage Manager

Widgets

Show Widgets

      • Uncheck On Desktop
  • Uncheck In Stage Manager

Use iPhone Widgets ==> Turn off

Reboot computer"

I've been experiencing the same thing for weeks now. Yesterday, I upgraded to Sonoma; it's the same as before (if not worse). I use Magic Mouse (newest gen), but it does not matter; it's the same as when I used the trackpad.

I have spent more than 3K on my current mac. For me, it is completely unacceptable that a company like Apple (who also sells their machines at a brutally overpriced price) approaches this issue in this way and has failed to find a solution to such a central problem in weeks. I progress slowly at work, I can't click on basic things with a one-year-old machine. Who will pay me the overtime I managed to accumulate in 3 weeks?

I don't think it's Apple... For whom it's more important to release updates and software solutions without normal testing (just because a new line of products is getting released). Outrageous.

It's still not fixed. I'm using a Magic Mouse on a 27 in iMac that I recently upgraded to Sonoma. Almost every time I try to click on something the contextual menu pops up on screen. It's made the iMac unusable for any real design work. Have switched to using a MacBook Pro for all current work or I'd be up Apple creek with out a paddle. C'mon guys, fix this!

Guys, I have an update for my issue so here I am sharing what is causing the problem for my case

since the issue was very annoying for me I decided to use my laptop for finish my daily task and add my Mx Master 3 mouse.

But the issue is still on my laptop which has not updated to the latest OS version (Sonoma)

So I searched Google for an online mouse test site and found this https://devicetests.com/mouse-test where I saw one of the buttons under "Thumb wheel" is always pressed so I clicked a few times on the button to release the press and wola the issue was solved.

Now when it's happening I test my mouse online and I can see the button was pressed.Since my problem is solved after 10 days I thought to share it with the community.

- Thanks

Just updated my imac to Sonoma and now my magic mouse decides that it won't double click or right click at times.

My Wacom started doing the same thing where the pen would just stop working. i have to turn it off/on then it'll work for a bit then stops responding.

I've looked through all the threads and i dont have an antivirus, i dont have random USB things plugged in, I've restarted the mac many times. I clean the mouse, disconnected/reconnected. I did all of the suggestions and the result is the same. The mouse does what it wants, when it wants.

When i was using Big Sur, no issues like this.

i know the issue is in Ventura too as i've experienced this at work.

Seems like this issue has been happening to many people for a couple years now so when will this be fixed?

Yes, mine is 2018 intel 15" MBP. I never had a problem with the two Magic devices. They connected as they should and work as they should, with Sonoma, and Ventura before (only Magic Mouse at that time). Both devices were created in the Intel times. Anyway, Bluetooth connections can break from time to time, even though that never happened with my MBP (yet). I think Sonoma for Intel is different from Sonoma for M chips. Mine is,
