Strange mouse click issue after updating Sonoma on MacBook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro M1 2020, it's having some strange mouse click issues right after I updated to macOS Sonoma. Anyone having the same problem? I hope Apple fixes the problem soon, it's irritating.

It was happening because I had McAfee total protection enabled. It's all fixed, mcAfee total protection will have to come out with an an update so it will be compatible with macOS Sonoma. I contacted Apple about it and they was doing a screen share. I disabled the virus protection.

This problem is driving me nuts. I work on a Mac Studio and my Magic Mouse pointer keeps jumping off the menu items that I'm trying to select, sometimes executing commands that I didn't intend. It is having a negative effect on my workflow using Adobe CC apps.

It only started happening with Sonoma OS and it still doesn't appear to have been resolved in the latest version.

Sometimes, I cannot even select the (untitled) names on folders to rename them! It's so frustrating – please sort this mouse issue asap Apple.

I have also facing issue from last 3 days on my M1 macbook pro 13.

On menu item click, hover nothing works. On app window and dock click works but no hover. If I hide desktop items, right click stop working. Also my mouse side buttons don't work. Sometimes the back button works, but most of the time it doesn't or work few seconds after pressing it.

First I tried updating my Ventura with no luck. Then updated to Sonoma 14.4.1, Tried disabling staging, iphone widget, Desktop spaces, pList file delete, safe boot; still no luck.

There are 11 pages on this issue and 700 people have clicked "Me too". Apple seems to have no plans on fixing this and it's become a security issue for me at work. I'll highlight something to copy but the focus won't be on the right window (though I'm clearly highlighting the expected text), hence the copy won't work and I'll end up pasting the wrong text. Please fix this.

I'm on Sonoma 14.4.1, how have there been 4 patches and this is still an issue?

It's still not fixed. I'm using a Magic Mouse on a 27 in iMac that I recently upgraded to Sonoma. Almost every time I try to click on something the contextual menu pops up on screen. It's made the iMac unusable for any real design work. Have switched to using a MacBook Pro for all current work or I'd be up Apple creek with out a paddle. C'mon guys, fix this!

Same problem under Sonoma. Rebooting fixes it for a while. Eventually mouse clicks stop registering - tho' clicking the same widget 5 or more times sometimes finally does register. Also at least some drop-down menus appear for only an instant when invoked & then disappear --- too fast to select any option from the drop-down. Yes, seems Apple does not care. Read somewhere that Apple devs do not get much credit for fixing low level stuff like this so they ignore it and work on flashy stuff where they get more credit. I am not running any anti-virus.

I just updated my Macbook Air M1 to the Sonoma version of macOS, and I've been experiencing same mouse-click issues since then. It's quite frustrating because the mouse clicks seem to work fine at times, but then they become unresponsive or sporadic. I've tried restarting my computer and checking for updates, but the issue still persists. I have no antivirus or firewall enabled. I'm using a Logitech Mx Master 3s mouse, and any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have been experiencing a persistent issue with my Mac recently, and it has been causing me a lot of frustration. The problem seems to be occurring frequently, and I initially thought it was specific to my machine. However, after stumbling upon a post related to the same issue, I realized that it is a widespread problem that many people are experiencing.

I tried running my Mac in safe mode to troubleshoot the issue, but unfortunately, it did not resolve the problem. I am still actively searching for a solution or any updates that may help me resolve the issue permanently.
