Sunset / sunrise Apple Watch not working.

The Sunset / sunrise is now showing on my Apple Watch face. If I click on the icon it does give the information per city I have in my World Clock on my Iphone.

I've checked the Security Location Services and this is set on 'while using app' as per earlier solutions offered.

I've also delinked the watch from my iphone and installed it again.

Also tried to switch to a different app and switch back to sunset / sunrise. No luck so far.

It seems to have been caused by a recent update. Any suggestions?

I have been struggling with this problem as well. I found the solution in another thread. The sunrise/sunset on the AppleWatch comes from the “clock” app and not the “weather” app. If you go to settings>location services>clock> SELECT “while using app” and it should do the trick.

Hi all! This has been bugging me for a while, and I finally googled about it last night and tried your ideas. Thank you for sharing! I’m not sure exactly what fixed me, as I tried a few things.

I toggled the Sunrise/sunset under Watch app->Clock->Siri Face Data Sources, first just turning off, backing out and turning back on, then when that didn’t work turning off, killing the app and going back in to turn it on.

i also found Precise location off under Settings->Privacy->Location Services->Clock and turned it on.

I still had no sunrise time on my watch face after both of these UNTIL I RESTARTED MY WATCH. That was the key for me. It seems like it worked for other people instantly after checking those settings, but for me the time did not show up on my watch face until I powered the watch off and back on. This is also why I’m not sure what exactly fixed it, since I didn’t restart until after doing multiple things.

Just wanted to share with those of you still struggling in case you tried all of the above fixes but never restarted. Hope it helps!

definitly sunset time info in the watch face comes from weather app. i had the same issue. when i click the icon it gives info but doesnt show in the face. the info comes after the moment i changed weather locations usage changed to “always”. but iphone gives warning about “ weather app used your location too many times”. i think it uses too much energy.

bpen33, I did as above, but never turned the above mentioned toggle back on at all, and sunset time now displays. Go figure. What is "Siri Face Data Sources" anyway?? I may have turned off some Siri feature I have long forgotten about; I am not a fan of Siri. This sunset time issue really annoys me; a classic example of software complexity messing up a simple and important feature. Yes, I do want to know when it gets dark. Like every day I want to know, especially if I go hiking near sunset. And no, it was/is not a "feature" to have made the font a whole lot smaller (unreadable) so that somebody could get credit for a new feature telling me not only when sunset is ( helpful ) AND how long it is until sunset. I know how long it is until 8PM, thank you very much, but I can no longer read the sunset time without glasses.
