Starkey Hearing Aids Pairing issue IOS 17

I was attempting to switch hearing aids today and was unable to pair with my iPhone 13Pro IOS 17.0.2

I have done this many times and never had problems. It seems like Starkey is not being recognized at all. I can switch back and pair my Widex brand just fine.

Since updating to IOS 17x all my programs in « My Starkey » have disappeared, so I can no longer use my hearing aids correctly.

I got a new IPhone 4 days ago and have been struggling with this problem since. I finally went up the Starkey website and got on chat. Here is what he told me which worked. This should work with any type phone, but worked for me. I also have chargeable hearing aids, but it should also work by turning them off and on. We had a phone and two ipads so I turned off the bluetooth on them.

Please place the hearing aids in the charger. Please turn bluetooth off on all other phones and iPads that you are not connecting to. Turn Bluetooth on in the phone you want to connect to. Then on your phone, please go to the phone settings and then tap on accessibility and then tap hearing devices. Then take the hearing aids off the charger. On the phone, under MFI Hearing Devices you should see not paired and tap that and then tap pair when you get the pairing requests.

I hope this works for others.

I contacted Starkey Technical support via phone. The lady who answered was extremely competent and resolved my issue. The solution was to delete my account and create a new one, which did restore my « Personal » program, as well as access to « Edge Mode ». Unfortunately, my personally created programs were all lost. Hopefully that is not something that happens often!

This sounds very disturbing! I suggest that you contact Starkey support immediately! Maybe they're just busy testing or something. If you have a hearing specialist, also contact them asap. Hearing specialists need to know that updating can cause this kind of issues.

I have Rexton hearing aids and Rexton customer support advised against updating to iOS 17 until at least end of October so that their research and development team can finish running tests.
