I’m trying to change the default timer sound
The timer should default to whatever you selected last. But, if you want to change it, open the timer, tap on "When Timer Ends" and select the tone you want.
apple is only interested in pushing new features. They don’t care to fix unless it’s a major public black eye. As an example look at iTunes it hasn’t worked right since iOS 5 or 6. This too is likely to be ignored, documented said to work as intended.
Agreed— this is deeply annoying, because the timer is one of the most useful things that Siri can do. For the system to default back to a sound I did not choose and actively dislike is unacceptable. I choose to consider the problem a bug, because otherwise it is flagrant disregard for customers. Apple, please correct at earliest opportunity!
Sorry, that's the only way I know to change it. Mine is set for "Radar" and it never changes.

Yep, it's not what most of us want, but Apple seems to have no answer for this. I just want the default Timer alarm to be the traditional Alarm sound that is used to be.

Looks like they read this discussion. It’s fixed. I’m able to change my default timer sound away from that horrible “radial” sound.

Apple also took away the ability to adjust volume on Lock Screen. Maddening 😐
Mine is now fixed somehow.
