I have an iPhone 12 and I updated to iOS 17 yesterday. When I receive or place calls, I can hear the person but they can’t hear me. I tried my phone, speakerphone, AirPods, and my car Bluetooth and nothing works. Voice memos work and FaceTime audio works. I’m only experiencing this issue with calls. I’ve restarted my phone several times and nothing works.

i don’t talk on the phone too often but have had to make several phone calls last 2 days and just noticed the same exact thing.
Seems to be intermittent: the mic keeps going in and out. we can hear each other just fine and then all of a sudden, they can’t hear me at all but I can hear them… luckily the last person waited long enough (while I frantically waved my phone around yelling, “can you hear me? Can you hear me???”), around maybe 30 seconds, and the mic started working again.
i don’t think it’s iOS related because i still have iOS 15.6.1 (iPhone 12)… unless it’s been since that update….
but what could it be if it’s affecting so many of us???
it’s incredibly frustrating.
(I had been on hold w/my dr’s office for over 30 minutes and when they finally answered, they couldn’t hear me so they hung up. 😫)
Same problem after recent update to 17.2.1. Followed JonnySE's suggestion and downloaded the app CheckMyDevice, tested “phone call” option, which uses the app to place a call, and now it’s fixed. Very odd.
I had an iPhone 14 Pro and for months callers could not hear me but I could hear them clearly. I thought it was a hardware issue and I got a new iPhone 15 Pro. I am having the same issue, callers cannot hear me but I can hear them. I have an excellent signal for my cellular service, full bars. I have already tried the basic troubleshooting: turning the phone off & on, resetting the network settings, calling my carrier who says everything is fine on their end...what more do I need to do just to have a simple phone call work properly? I had no idea that this issue was related to a recent update.
Mine got resolved after updating to 17.1
Update, this only happens once or twice a day. If I hang up and call back it works for me.
Has anyone been successful in getting this fixed?

My Bluetooth I can hear but people whom call me or I call them can’t hear me
Reset Network Settings worked for me.
this annoying because when im on whatApp can i call hear clearly bust when im on normal call i hear nothing

This ended up only working temporarily. Back to where no one can here me unless I have my earbuds in.
People can’t hear me when I call them. I can hear them.
I have 17.3.1 and people still can't hear me. None of the suggestions are working.
