iPhone15 Pro to External Display limited to 2560x1440?

I'm trying to connect my iPhone15Pro to an external display which supports 4K via USBC-HDMI dongle.

Mysteriously the resolution seems to be limited up to 2560x1440.

When I connect my M1 Pro to the same display with the same dongle and cable, I can select 4K resolution up to 4096 x 2160(3840x2160 in 16:9 ratio).

Does anyone have the same problem?

Hello Satoshi_Kimura,

You'll need to use a Thunderbolt cable. This article Charge and connect with the USB-C connector on your iPhone 15 - Apple Support from Apple states :

iPhone uses the DisplayPort protocol to support connections to USB-C displays at up to 4K resolution and 60Hz.

To connect your iPhone to high-resolution displays, use a USB-C cable that supports USB 3.1 or higher, such as the cable included with the display or the Thunderbolt 4 (USB‑C) Pro Cable (1 m), sold separately.

I recently purchased the USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter and conducted some experiments.

The results were intriguing.

When I use the Digital AV Multiport Adapter, I achieve a full HDR resolution of 3840 x 2160 in most scenarios, as anticipated. However, I noticed that even with third-party adapters, when I play movies on the TV app or Netflix app, the resolution remains at 3840 x 2160. This suggests that the limitation is not hardware-related, but rather a software issue.
