iPhone 15 eSIM “not compatible” with European carrier

Hello,

i have an iPhone 15 Pro Max purchased with Verizon in the US. I was trying to add a second eSIM from Europe to the Phone, as I previously had on my iPhone 13 Pro Max, but received an eSIM not compatible error message. It seems like this is common with US bought iPhones. What is the workaround, if any?

Have you checked with Verizon to make sure that the carrier lock on your phone has been removed?

What is displayed if you check the following on your phone? Settings > General > About > Carrier Lock

If the phone is unlocked, you will see a message about No Restrictions

Unless you have met Verizon's requirements for unlocking the phone, you will not be able to set up the phone to work with another carrier.

If the phone remains locked to Verizon, you might want to check with them about adding an international calling plan to your current service.

There will be no resolution as long as the phone is locked to a U.S. carrier. Is it?

For example, most carriers in the U.S. might require a commitment of up to 2 years of service before the phone can be unlocked and used with another carrier.

We can't give you a more specific answer unless your daughter can review the details of her agreement with the U.S. carrier to which the phone is locked.

To use two different providers, your iPhone must be unlocked. Otherwise, both plans must be from the same provider. If a CDMA network provides your first SIM, your second SIM won't support CDMA. Contact your network provider for more information.

If you have an enterprise or corporate data service plan, check with your company administrator to see if they support this feature.

not true. (at least in my case.)

If the phone is locked to Verizon....(If you bought the phone through Verizon, it surely locked to Verizon....or.....if you bought the phone from Apple, but specified Verizon as your carrier, it is surely locked to Verizon)......you are not going to be able to set up service with another carrier until the lock is removed by Verizon.

If you think your case is different, then you will have to convince Verizon.

it has to do with the provider in Europe and his ability to support the model based on certain restrictions.

I have the same issue and I wonder why the issued a phone in us that has limitations in Europe and the same phone with physical sim slot works fine for all providers in Europe.

apart from that 4G works fine.

hope they fix it someday soon....
