The answer provided does NOT in any way address the issue.
IOS 17 is requiring a Windows.net login for Microsoft based email. and I quote to allow the app and websites to share data. It does not do this for my personal domain space email based in Microsoft nor my yahoo-based emails. It only does this for my corporate MFA required account. Oddly enough that information regarding the account is already provide the login so why ask for it again?
I do not want to share data with the website. Just get my email. Please stop breaking what was working with these updates. Some features I like. This one not so much. How do I get this part to go back the the way it was?

One of our users is reporting similar behavior as described by the original poster. The response from the community specialist above does not address the original question.
In our case, the user had previously setup the email account without issue and now receives the following warning when attempting to change his password. I suspect Apple introduced this warning for when a redirect occurs during an authentication, but there is no mention of this change in behavior in any of the available iOS release notes.
Is this now expected behavior when attempting to authenticate to Office 365 when using Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD) MFA conditional access?
The user experiencing this is running iOS 17, we have tried unsuccessfully to reproduce the behavior on an iOS 16.6.1 device.
Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.
Hi there did you find any resolution? I have a user with the same issue and I can't find anything on the apple community.
We are also having users with the same pop up after upgrading to iOS 17. Is there anyone from Apple that can confirm why this is now happening? I don't think the Community Specialist read the original question.
My user would like to know exactly what information is being shared.
Have we gotten an answer on whether this popup is safe and part of the update? I have never seen it before this IOS update either.
Hello SIGNiXTech,
If you are receiving a prompt about the settings for your email account, you may need to adjust them using the steps below:
If Mail can't find your email settings, then you need to enter them manually. Tap Next, then follow these steps:
1. Choose IMAP or POP for your new account. If you aren’t sure which one to choose, contact your email provider.
2. Enter the information for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then tap Next. If you don't have this information, try to look it up.
3. If your email settings are correct, tap Save to finish. If the email settings are incorrect, you'll be asked to edit them.
You can also find those steps in this resource: Add an email account - Apple Support
Should that prompt still persist, is this happening with a specific email account or multiple?
Are you still able to log in to the affected email account on another device without any difficulties?
Let us know, and we'll keep moving forward based on those details.
Does anyone have any solution for this? I cannot get out of the prompt. The prompt keeps coming back after hitting cancel or continue. It does not allow me to enter a password.
Getting same request since about Feb 1, 2024. Also only applies to my corporate MS Exchange account. Not GMAIL.
