Apple car play thru usb c does not work, only charges phone
Apple car play will not work on iPhone 15 using usb c charging cable. It will charge the phone

There are a few things you'll want to check.
- Ensure your iPhone 15 is updated to the latest release of iOS 17: Update iOS on iPhone
- Check that Siri is enabled: Use Siri on iPhone
- Check CarPlay is not restricted in Settings > General > CarPlay and Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Allowed Apps
- Forget your car stereo from Settings > General > CarPlay > [stereo name]
- Forget the iPhone 15 from your car's stereo (following steps found in the owner's manual for your car)
- Rename your iPhone in Settings > General > About > Name
