The Photos app displays incorrect amount of images.

This might seem like a minor inconvenience but I like keeping my images organized. While thinning my images (and trying to sort them), I noticed that they keep moving from order after exiting and reentering the app. Further, I noticed that the image count at the bottom doesn't match the amount of images of the "Recents" folder [Image 1 and 2]. And on TOP of that, I noticed that regardless of how many pictures are in the folder, the folder still ends in an image, when it should end in empty slots when the number of images isn't divisible by 5 [Image 3]. Anyone know what's causing this or how to fix it? Is this a feature that was added without mentioning? How do I disable it?
